எழுத்தாணி

Indian languages, first-class in the AI-first world.

டிஜிட்டல் உலகில் இந்திய மொழிகளுக்கு முதல் இடம்.

Ezhuthani is an AI-native writing companion for Indian languages. It works inside the editor you already use and helps you write technical and professional Tamil with the right terms, sound grammar and one consistent voice.

The name: எழுத்தாணி, the palm-leaf stylus Tamil was written with for centuries.
The gap

The model can already say it in Tamil. The workflow can’t.

Language AI has moved fast. Ask a model to explain gradient descent or eigenvalues in Tamil and it will. That was never the hard part.

The hard part shows up in chapter nine of a Tamil engineering textbook, when the author has used three different words for the same concept, the grammar checker only understands English, and no tool in the editor knows the field’s vocabulary. The gap sits between what language models can do and the tools people actually write with.

  • Terms drift. The same concept gets a different name in each chapter, and nothing flags it.
  • Checkers are built for English. Grammar and style help mostly stops at the script boundary.
  • Editors don’t know the field. Technical Tamil vocabulary lives in the author’s head and scattered glossaries.

Example

An engineer writing a textbook in Tamil

They know the material. They can ask a chatbot for a translation of “eigenvalue”. What they lack is a workflow that keeps the chosen word the same on page 12 and page 312, checks the sentence around it, and suggests the established term for the next concept.

With Ezhuthani

The glossary follows the manuscript

Terms are chosen once and enforced everywhere. Grammar and register get checked in Tamil. Rewrites keep the author’s voice. The result reads like a professionally edited book, not a patchwork of translations.

Why we exist

Working in an Indian language should feel as capable as working in English.

Vision

Make Indian languages first-class citizens of the digital and AI-first world.

ஒவ்வொரு இந்திய மொழியும் அன்றாடப் பணியில் முழுத் திறனுடன்.

A digital world where every Indian language is as capable, accessible and seamlessly integrated into everyday work as the world’s leading digital languages.

Mission

Eliminate the productivity gap between Indian languages and the world’s most digitally supported languages.

We build the tools and infrastructure that connect language technology to real-world digital workflows, so that writing in Tamil, and then other Indian languages, is as seamless, powerful and intuitive as writing in English or Chinese.

Approach

Build practical, integrated language tools first. Develop specialized models when existing ones aren’t good enough for the job.

Where it goes

Start narrow with Tamil technical writing, then widen.

  1. Now

    Tamil technical & professional writing

Textbooks, reports and documentation, where terminology and consistency matter most.

  2. Next

    More domains

Government documentation, legal writing and literature, built on the same glossary and grammar layer.

  3. Later

    More Indian languages

The same infrastructure, extended to other Indian languages and their writers.
